The Best Analysis I've Seen of The China Study

T. Colin Campbell's book The China Study has been widely touted as the ultimate proof that animal foods are bad and plant foods are good. I have remained unconcerned, but if the foofooraw about The China Study has given you pause at all about your low carb, animal food-heavy diet, you need to read this long but truly wonderful critique by Denise Minger. Further, you need to forward it to every annoying, self-righteous vegan who has been harping on The China Study as the irrefutable proof of the evil of your ways.

I'm not into a raw foods diet, but I admire Ms. Minger's work very much, and will be paying close attention from here on out. Many thanks to Lierre Keith for sending me this write-up.

I read Ms. Minger's critique

I read Ms. Minger's critique and WOW was I impressed! Unlike far too many researchers these days, she was
-- objective
-- thorough
-- unwilling to come to specific conclusions when numerous variables were involved.

In other words, she comported herself in a truly scientific manner. Too bad T. Colin Campbell failed to do so - one would expect better of someone of his stature. However, it seems that biased analysis and cherrypicking of data is endemic in many areas of politically-charged research - nutrition, climate, etc.

the China Study

My brother totally believes in this and is on the Okinawan diet. He is on me constantly about eating too much meat. Low Carb is working for me and I am happy with that. When we went to visit him in North Carolina this month, he did cook meat for me though.
