How about Italian Sausage (the kind you slice) sliced in a pan with sliced peppers and a little onion, sauteed in olive oil with a little garlic and seasoning? Probably not authentic anything, but we do what we can! Also, I saw a bit of "Everyday Italian" on Food Network and the host was saying how Italian barbecue doesn't have anything to do with that sweet BBQ sauce. You might go on the Food Network website and look for Everyday Italian and peruse the recipes to see if there's anything usable there.
Good luck!
Rachel

Subject: [Htt-recipes] low carb Italian
Tonight is the finale of the Sopranos, and we traditionally have italian food while we watch the show. Since we have been doing low carb, this has mostly been meatballs in a low sugar spaghetti sauce or a big salad. Does anyone have any other ideas for low carb, EASY Italian? I'm diabetic and cannot eat any kind of pasta without sending my blood glucose soaring. Thanks.
